Sidewalk Clickthrough

Today we’re seeing a gap in the way advertisements are approached between the digital and physical spheres. The online space is packed with countless advertisements yielding clickthrough rates that are oftentimes laughably low. The ads have become so numerous and ingrained in the web, in fact, that we went so far as to develop browser extensions that filter them out for us. As consumers, we’ve been conditioned to subconsciously tune out those few that slip through the cracks on a video or news site that makes you disable your ad blocker outright for access. Things aren’t so different when you step outside. If you live in a metropolitan area, you likely treat mundane billboards and static storefront ads with the same neglect you do for ads online. Quite frankly it’s all become background noise to us.

Even regardless of general inefficiency, online advertisements boast two main advantages. Firstly, it’s much easier to implement something engaging and increase your chances of being engaged with it. Secondly, online platforms allow for streams of pinpoint-accurate statistics and feedback on performance that out-of-home advertising simply can’t provide. But in terms of engagement, it’s largely a zero-sum game. The average clickthrough rate for an online ad is a staggering 0.35%.

Don’t worry, that’s all changing.

At Visual Feeder, we don’t do ads. We create experiences. In a world so packed with infuriatingly bland displays, targeted, creative, interactive, and dynamic brand experiences at the street level are our vision for the future. What’s more, we’re ushering clickthrough rates to the real world. Providing real-world analytics on engagement, traffic, and more, you no longer have to go in blind when working offline. We’re ingraining ourselves into the hearts of some of the biggest cities in the U.S. and ushering in a new era for brands from the bottom up.
